It seems to me that in the wake of the horrific and tragic shootings in San Bernardino, the local police, federal government, and even Obama himself, are doing everything they can to steer the blame away from possible Islamic connection. The police is mum about the motive, claiming that they have yet to determine what caused the massacre. The police chief suggested that it could have been a "private" matter, that the male shooter was at the party and left angry over some words with others. The police even went so far as to say that it appeared to be a spur of the moment thing, that the angry man went home, got all dressed in black and armed himself to teeth to return for the massacre. Oh yes, he also had a tag along, his wife who was not at the party but nevertheless got all dressed up like hubby and accompanied him to do the shooting.
OK, I am very gullible and will go along with the spur of the moment explanation and that the wife went along to support her spouse.....sort of. The outcry from Obama and other quarters is it is all the fault of our "lax" gun laws, we need more gun control! For those who are unfamiliar or simply are anti-gun and do not want to listen, let me say this anyway. We have more gun laws than any other country. The only problem is that they are not enforced! What good will it do to pass more restrictive gun laws when existing laws are not enforced? Or passing silly laws like restricting magazine capacity to 10. Do you mean to tell me you can't commit murder if you have less than 10 rounds? An awful lot of folks died by six shooters in the wild west! But this isn't about gun control, so I'll stop.
The murderers, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik were dressed in black from head to toe, sort of like ISIS, but god forbid, I am not accusing them of being Islamic terrorists! They also wore body armor and were armed as if they were going into battle. They were armed with AR-15 type rifles and also had handguns as well as explosives. Now if this was a "spur of the moment" thing as the police suggests, they sure as hell were well prepared for the "spur of the moment!" Contrary to what some anti-gun folks may believe, average gun owners in America do not own body armor nor do they keep explosives handy so they can just pick them up and go! Owning AR-15s and multiple handguns do not make one a terrorist suspect. The body armor becomes somewhat questionable. Why in the world would you own body armor unless you believe you will be engaged in a fire fight! Having explosives handy definitely puts one in a different category. If we don't want to accuse them of being terrorists, we can assume they were planning a bank robbery or simply do something illegal like blowing up a building!
Syed was born in America and his wife Tashfeen was born in Pakistan and grew up in Saudi Arabia. No, according to what we are hearing from the officials, local and federal, they were not terrorists, homegrown or any other kind. They were apparently shooting enthusiasts who simply became angry over something and sort of lost control. Tashfeen, being the good wife that she was, simply supported her husband, although it was not her fight, but she was a good Muslim wife.
Just imagine the scene. The husband comes home, storming in, having just returned from a party at his work place or former work place. He was apparently insulted or had exchanged words with someone and is very angry. He announces that he is going back to kill all those people, who knows, he may have even said "infidels." Seeing his anger, being the good wife that she is, she announces that she too will accompany him. They both don black clothing from head to toe, clothing that they just happened to have around. They put on ballistic armor, grab their weapons and explosives, all handily available for quick access, and head out to commit their horrible deed. Yes, it was a "spur of the moment" thing, triggered by something that was said at the party.
OK, so I am being sarcastic and don't believe the official explanation or lack of explanation. I can understand why the local police and the federal government want to steer this incident as far away as they can from connection with Islamic terrorists. Considering what happened recently in France and other parts of the world, there would be an immediate backlash from angry Americans. Remember what happened after 9/11? Here in Arizona an American Sikh was shot dead by some idiot who thought he was a Muslim because he wore a turban! The officials certainly don't want to create panic or direct anger at our Muslim population. Something like this could start a lynch mob scenario in some quarters. But at the same time, it is almost laughable how the police and the federal government are trying to steer away from anything to do with Islamic terrorists, home grown or otherwise.
Perhaps we will never be told the true motives of Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik. It shouldn't be that hard to find evidence in their house of their connection to radical Islam if it existed. I would be surprised if there is a connection and it is revealed. But then again, I have been wrong before, more times than I like to remember, so who knows, may be we will be told that they were radical Islamists, home grown terrorists.
